The Hunchback of Notre Dame is one of my favorite Disney movies. It certainly underrated compared to the Princess movies. This song breaks my heart when Quasimodo just repeats Frollo. But when he goes into the solo section, there is hope in his voice. He is still strong and just wants to be loved and a part of something. I think that is a concept that everyone can identify with.

Top 20 Songs of All Time: #11

Just missing the top ten is a song that was ranked number 9 last year. 

The first time I heard this song was when I saw the music video on VH1. I could not believe how fast Flea was playing his bass, and was instantly hooked. The music video just has so much going on and it’s high energy set precedent for how I view the song today.

The lyrics are about starting over again, and the chorus asks questions that most people ask themselves as they transition between phases of their life. I found myself listening to this song a lot when I went from middle school to high school, and from high school to college. I asked a few of my residents some of those questions and it was interesting to hear what they had to say. 

The backing vocals on this song are amazing as well.
